Support (USA) Olympics Team in Cross Stitch

With no cable in my house right now, the current source of Olympics update is from the internet.

I remembered Olympics as the biggest sporting event in this planet and winning a gold medal was the ultimate dream for every athlete ( not if you're a soccer player. You would prefer a World Cup trophy).

Anyway, I have been playing around designing my own cross-stitch pattern. My baking has been rather limited so I'm trying to satisfy my sweet tooth craving with cross-stitch. I've been craving for some checkered cake, so I came up with this red, blue, white checked cake in honor of USA. Go Team USA! What do you think?

Time to get my stitching gear!

Mojo Monday

This Mojo 214 Sketch gets my creative mojo kicking! Besides, I haven't been sending any card to my friend in Singapore lately, so it's the perfect timing to get crafting.

Is it too early for Christmas? Christmas is my favorite time of the year. It's time for celebration with the "magical" decoration and joyful songs popping up everywhere, and more importantly, the day my Savior was born!

Here's for you Wilson!  Hope it's "masculine" enough!  =P

Chocolate Macarons

Now, I can finally say that I've successfully made a french macaron before!!! *happy dance*
I tried to made this delicate desert a couple of times but not very successfully. I think I didn't let it rest enough and my oven is too hot.

Anyway, I bought the book Laduree: The Sweet Recipes and has been wanting to make the chocolate macarons! With so many nice (ok, nice is an understatement!) pictures and the box that it comes with, the book is like an album. I decided to give it another go this weekend.

I cross refer the recipe on the book with another one by Tartelette. The latter recipe calls for lesser amount of sugar, so I followed it. However, it's still a tad sweet for my taste. I'll try to reduce it a little bit next time.

I still need to work on my piping, but overall, I'm a very happy gal and about to make a friend happy too with this little package! You got to share your joy, right?
